ICT Product Analyst, Purchasing Systems
About this role
The Product Analyst, ICT Purchasing supports the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications that enable Purchasing and Supply Chain business processes. Working under the guidance of senior product and IT leaders, this role helps coordinate application support activities, gather business requirements, manage enhancement requests, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technology solutions meet business needs.
The Product Analyst serves as a key liaison between Purchasing business users, IT teams, and software vendors, helping drive operational excellence, user adoption, and process improvements while developing a strong understanding of purchasing systems and digital technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Product & Application Support
- Support day-to-day operations of Purchasing and Procurement applications.
- Assist in monitoring application performance, availability, and service levels.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities.
- Coordinate user testing, defect resolution, and application releases.
- Support application upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
- Business Partnership & Requirements Management
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Gather, document, and refine business needs and functional requirements.
- Assist in translating business requirements into user stories and product backlog items.
- Support prioritization discussions for enhancements and operational improvements.
- Maintain product documentation and process flows.
- Vendor & Technology Coordination
- Work with software vendors and support partners to resolve issues and track deliverables.
- Assist in managing vendor communications and support activities.
- Support software licensing, vendor performance tracking, and contract compliance activities.
- Participate in governance meetings and project status reviews.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve application functionality, user experience, and business processes.
- Support digital transformation and automation initiatives within Purchasing.
- Assist with reporting, metrics, and value realization tracking.
- Promote adoption of new tools, features, and best practices.
- Project Support
- Contribute to cross-functional projects involving Purchasing technologies.
- Assist with testing, deployment planning, user communications, and training activities.
- Monitor assigned tasks and workstreams to ensure timely completion.
- Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies to Product Owners or leadership as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, Business Analysis, or a related area.
- Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and business processes quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Purchasing or Supply Chain business processes.
- Basic SAP Procurement or Materials Management (MM) knowledge.
- Experience gathering business requirements and documenting user stories.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and product management practices.
- Knowledge of sourcing or procurement systems.
- Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools.
- Exposure to AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, or similar data platforms.
