Accessories & Bags Product Development Technician is part of the Accessories & Bags Business Unit team based at the Novara office. The resource will report to the “Accessories & Bags Product Manager”.
The role will drive the technical development and industrialisation of Accessories & Bags collections by working closely with suppliers and pattern makers throughout the product development process. Ensure prototypes and samples meet the brand’s technical, quality and manufacturing standards while identifying practical solutions to optimise product construction and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate product concepts into technically feasible solutions, ensuring alignment with design intent, quality standards and manufacturing requirements.
- Oversee the technical development of prototypes and samples, working closely with pattern makers and manufacturing partners throughout the industrialisation process.
- Identify and implement the most effective construction and manufacturing solutions to optimise product quality, functionality, manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers throughout product development, ensuring consistency with Stella McCartney’s quality and construction standards.
- Monitor the technical progress of each style, identifying and resolving construction or manufacturing issues before production.
- Review product construction, pattern engineering and material consumption to support efficient industrialisation.
- Manage and maintain the pattern archive within the CAD system, ensuring technical data is accurate, complete and readily available throughout the development process.
- Collaborate with Material R&D, Costing, Quality and Production teams to ensure all technical specifications are accurately transferred and fully aligned before production.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in technical product development and industrialisation within the fashion/luxury bags and accessories industry.
- Strong knowledge of product construction, pattern making and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience working directly with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Good knowledge of CAD systems.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Availability to travel frequently to suppliers and manufacturing sites.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Salary Range: € 55.000 - € 60.000 Gross Annual Salary (RAL).
