Senior Full Stack Developer
About this role
Overview
As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will work with a team of developers to design, develop, and deliver software features, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions across AWS cloud environments. You will develop scalable, secure, and maintainable applications using Java, React, HTML, and Python while following Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, including build/release management, CI/CD practices, and test automation.
Contributions
Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and deploy microservices and cloud-native applications using Java, React, HTML, and Python.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and business analysts to refine functional and non-functional requirements.
- Troubleshoot software quality, security, performance, and reliability issues.
- Participate in peer code reviews and software quality assurance activities.
- Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and functional tests.
- Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and fixes.
- Support debugging, troubleshooting, testing, and performance optimization of software applications.
- Document software code, technical designs, features, and training guides.
- Leverage virtualization and containerization technologies to optimize and modernize software systems.
- Act as an individual contributor while mentoring junior team members.
- Engineer and implement software solutions while providing recommendations for continuous improvement of supported services.
- Present technical solutions, demonstrations, and application capabilities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field OR Bachelor's degree in a non-IT field with two (2) years of related IT experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing full stack applications using Java, React, HTML, and Python.
- Experience developing software using AWS cloud services, cloud-native architectures, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud services.
- 8+ years of experience utilizing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar technologies.
- Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Experience implementing automated testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and functional testing.

- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- Experience supporting technical demonstrations, solution showcases, or technical challenges.
- 5+ years of application development experience in an Agile environment.
- Experience developing cloud-native microservices and event-driven applications.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and secure software development principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $185,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
