Overview

As an Integration Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice developing APIs and integration capabilities to connect data, services, and systems to help our customers achieve their mission. We are looking for candidates with experience with cloud platform services, understanding business requirements and implement complex integrations.  In addition, the candidate will have experience in performing API discovery along with designing and implementing a common enterprise API platform.

Contributions

  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
  • Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and ‘fixes’
  • Develop APIs and integrations using a broad range of software programming tasks to ensure that their systems integrations are functional.
  • Perform API/web service discovery and analysis
  • Design, build, and maintain GraphQL APIs and schemas to support enterprise integrations
  • Make recommendations, design, and implement a common enterprise API platform.
  • Create and provide technical documentation that explains upcoming or existing integrations to non-technical individuals
  • Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations 
  • Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
  • Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
  • Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant experience; OR
    • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience; OR
    • No degree and 8 years of relevant experience
  • Possesses at least one professional certification relevant to the technical service provided. Maintain a certification relevant to the product being deployed and/or maintained.
  • 1-2 years of experience including API development
  • 1-2 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages
  • 1-2 Years of Experience with one or more integration technologies
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • General experience working in a DevSecOps environment and process

 Preferred:

  • Certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solution Architect Associate
  • Experience designing, implementing, and documenting APIs
  • Experience integrating Security based commercial tools into a unified platform (i.e. Scanning, Logging, GRC, SIEM tools, etc.).
  • Experience integrating datasets with a modern Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool such as RegScale.
  • Experience implementing Automated Testing frameworks to test APIs and integrations
  • Experience with NIST controls and compliance (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, RMF)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $160,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
