Training & Development Specialist
About this role
Purpose of Position:
The training and development specialist designs, develops and conducts training for employees within S.T.A.R. The goals are to develop skills, increase productivity, enhance the quality of work and build company loyalty. This position is based out of the Administration building and will require travel to each of the three centers and CAP to assess needs and provide appropriate training. Attend meetings and training sessions within Maricopa County.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluate staff performance and identify the training needs of the organization
- Design, plan and conduct training sessions for existing staff members and orientation for newly hired employees.
- Training may include team exercises, role playing, simulations, group discussions, videos, lectures, and online instruction
- Develop staff training evaluation methods
- Develop with direct service staff, peer recovery modules to be used by staff for peer recovery groups
- Work with management to identify the training needs of the organization
- Draft training manuals and/or materials with involvement of direct service staff and management
- Understand and work within the department budget
- Maintain AMPM 963 curriculum IAW OIFA criteria
- Ensure training is in line with the mission, vision, and values of S.T.A.R.
- Train staff, members, and community members as needed
- Primary trainer for the facilitation of Peer Certification training and Microsoft products
- Utilize outlook for emails, calendar, and Microsoft teams communication as directed
