About this role

THE COMPANY:

STACK INFRASTRUCTURE (STACK) provides digital infrastructure to scale the world’s most innovative companies. We are an award-winning industry leader in building, owning, and operating highly efficient, cost-effective wholesale, colocation, and cloud data centers. Each of our national facilities meets or exceeds the highest industry standards in all operational categories of availability, security, connectivity, and physical resilience.

STACK offers the scale and geographic reach that rapidly growing hyperscale and enterprise companies need. The world runs on data. Data runs on STACK.

THE POSITION:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Sr. Director of Supply Chain – Utilities Category to own and manage the end-to-end strategy, sourcing, supplier relationships, contracting support, delivery visibility, and risk management for utility infrastructure and critical power equipment required to support STACK’s hyperscale data center growth.

STACK Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Director of Utilities to act as our primary commercial market strategist for massive-scale power equipment. Spanning low voltage up to 765kV high-voltage systems, this role is the critical bridge between our gigawatt-scale data center designs and the realities of the global supply chain. We are looking for a visionary thinker and problem-solver who deeply understands manufacturing, supply chains, the equipment, the utility space, and EPC construction.

Crucially, this leader must embody STACK’s dynamic, highly collaborative culture. You will be expected to continuously challenge the status quo to drive innovation and speed-to-market, doing so with the "Consideration"—integrity, safety, and respect—that defines our core values. While this role will initially operate as a highly influential matrix leader, it is designed for an individual with the maturity to build, mentor, and empower a cohesive team as the organization scales.

As a leader and communicator, the Sr. Director - Utilities will bring a deep understanding of the utilities market. They will excel in:

  • Technical Market Strategy: Serve as the resident expert on high, medium, and low-voltage equipment markets. Develop and execute proactive supply chain strategies to secure critical capacity, manage lead-time volatility, and ensure STACK maintains a competitive, industry-leading edge.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Actively evaluate and refine our infrastructure procurement and deployment processes. Champion continuous improvement initiatives that balance creative solutioning and speed with the absolute, zero-incident reliability our hyperscale clients demand.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster a culture of trust and shared success. Partner directly and cohesively with internal teams (Engineering, Pre-Construction, Operations) and external stakeholders (General Contractors, EPCs, Utilities) to ensure seamless delivery and integration of complex equipment.
  • Commercial-Technical Bridging: Act as the technical anchor during commercial negotiations. While Legal and outside counsel will finalize terms and conditions, you will dictate the market strategy and technical requirements that inform those contracts.
  • Team Maturation & Mentorship: Cultivate a high-performing environment. Guide and mentor staff, helping them navigate complex technical and commercial roadblocks while encouraging diverse perspectives and collaborative problem-solving.

THE DETAILS:

  • Location: Denver, CO and will also consider remote
  • Travel: Up to 30%
  • Benefits: Healthcare, Dental Care, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Paid Leave Programs
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must pass comprehensive background and drug screening

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical Depth: 15+ years of experience in electrical systems, utility infrastructure, or mission-critical construction, with specific expertise in medium-voltage and high-voltage equipment (up to 765kV).
  • Commercial Market Savvy: You aren't just a technical expert; you understand macro market constraints, manufacturing queues, and how to build a robust, scalable procurement strategy around them.
  • EPC/Construction Fluency: Deep understanding of construction phasing, utility interconnection, and on-site integration. You know what happens when equipment hits the dirt.
  • Cultural Alignment & Leadership Maturity: A proven track record of leading cohesive teams and influencing outcomes cross-functionally without needing a formal mandate. You are an innovative leader who respectfully challenges legacy thinking, leads with integrity, and thrives in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment.
