About this role

OBJECTIVE AND MAIN TASK OF THE FUNCTION

This position is responsible for assisting the commercial teams in Singapore to drive sales & marketing in Singapore, to provide technical field ICL support, as well as the planning of training roadmaps and structures to customers (distributors, product specialists, end-users) within the region and supports the Regional Business Lead SE Asia/Australia to achieve sales commitments and exceed the regional budget. Variety of tasks in sales, practice development, clinical support and training.

TASKS

  • Achieve set sales target for the assigned region.
    • Support the regional commercial head to define and implement actions to successfully sell key product portfolio.
    • Involvement in budgeting process.
    • Collection and analysis of market relevant data.
    • Lead back-office resources for selling/marketing/servicing business partners.
    • Support launch plan for new products and application programs across the region.
    • Train distributors on streamlining order cycle for ICL/TICL.
    • Market feedback on product performance and improvement requirements.
    • Provide product training and technical support for local distributors, surgeons and clinic staff and ensure STAAR brand and EVO product information is consistent with company vision and strategy.
    • Regular follow-ups on the activities done and evaluation of results while taking necessary actions.
    • Act as point of first reference for consultations and complaints while working with distributors/end-users, cross functional with Medical Affairs.
    • Organize and provide training, presentations and demonstrations to the clinic staff on use and key messages and use of the STAAR's products and effective communication and sales techniques.
    • Responsible for podium messages in the region: local user groups, experts meeting, etc.
    • Responsible for local training programs in the region aligned with international strategy.
    • Provides application advice to customers and understands level and type of complaints and provides feedback for training and improvements of outcomes.
    • Represents the company's viewpoint on products to key opinion leaders, scientific advisors, and health authorities.
    • Educate and support the customers with patient education/patient awareness strategies including website, branding, practice development etc.
    • Maintain know-how of STAAR products, up-to-date and research best practice methods in patient awareness/patient education by attending congresses, meeting and training sessions and exchange know-how.
    • Provide regular reports to management on activities done, improvement achieved and areas to improve.
    • Plan and execute training and marketing programs for ICL surgeons and staff (Counsellors/ Technicians/ Nurses) involved in ICL.
    • Other support for the Region by the Supervisor.
    • Singapore office: Assist the Country manager for the day-to-day administrative tasks for the office:
    • Assist the Country manager for Product registrations/Audits for the Singapore entity.
    • Assist the Country manager for Accounts/AGM submission and year end closing.
    • Assist the Country manager in assuring office set up and administration is done effectively.
    • Assist the Country manager in Product Registrations and Maintenance/ GDPMDS licensing.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Education: Degree in Optometry or Business/marketing degree preferred, strong candidates with equivalent, hands-on experience will be considered.

Special Knowledge: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Excellent communication skills to adapt to different individuals at all levels
Knowledge of international business and medical/ophthalmic devices in general

Personality: Organized and structured
Team player, high level of motivation
Ability to learn quickly and work independently

Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position and environment
