About the Department
10 East Neurosciences is a 24 bed unit comprising of 24 Neurosurgical beds. We care for patients with higher dependency and complex care needs within our supportive multidisciplinary team. We strive to provide high quality patient focused care. The Unit cares for post operative Neurosurgical patients who have undergone brain, spine or epilepsy surgery. Our team is dedicated to developing and growing our staff so that everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We encourage staff to pursue post graduate qualifications in Neurosurgery Nursing through the Australian Catholic University. Teamwork is at the core of everything we do.
About the Role
The Grade 2 Registered Nurse, under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager or Associate Nurse Unit Manager, will be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care in his/her specific area. The Grade 2 Registered Nurse will be responsible for ensuring his/her own professional development in order to maintain clinical skills and knowledge.
Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum).
Duties
- Participate in mentor / preceptorship programs
- Participate in Unit meetings and orientate new staff as directed
- Participate in ongoing education by attend training and study days as required or requested
- Work a rotating roster on night shifts only.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
