Job Summary

The Intern - Finance & Digital Transformation will support the Finance team in operational accounting, financial analysis, process improvement, and digitalisation initiatives. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), financial reporting, internal controls, and business analytics while contributing to projects that leverage automation, data analytics, and AI technologies to improve business performance and operational efficiency.

He/she is a curious, analytical, and technology-savvy individual who is eager to apply finance knowledge in a dynamic business environment. He/she should possess a strong learning mindset, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and an interest in emerging technologies such as AI, automation, data visualisation, and digital transformation. The intern should be comfortable working with data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing innovative ideas through project-based assignments that create measurable business value.

This internship is designed to complement relevant academic learning by providing practical, hands-on experience in financial operations, data-driven decision-making, process optimization, and the application of digital tools in modern business functions.

Job Responsibilities/Key Tasks(External)

Finance Operations
Process Accounts Payable (AP) workflows, including invoice verification, data entry, three-way matching, and payment schedule preparation.
Support Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including issuing customer invoices, tracking collections, matching receipts, and performing routine account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end financial closing, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and basic variance reporting.
Maintain digital finance records and audit trails in compliance with internal control standards, company policies, and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audit reviews.
• Partner with Finance and Operations to design, test, and deploy low-code automations that streamline financial reporting and operations. 

Data Analytics & AI Applications
Analyze Financial Data by using Excel (Advanced, Power Query) and Power BI to identify key cost drivers and operational trends.
Build and refine reporting dashboards for routine performance tracking and management decisions 
Explore and test Generative AI tools and prompts to streamline routine finance tasks, such as summarizing financial commentary, drafting emails, or parsing unstructured document data.
Execute data cleansing, transformation, and visualization tasks to support business intelligence projects.

Digital Transformation & Process Automation
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and IT teams to translate business needs into digital project functional requirements.
Develop low-code workflow automations using Microsoft Power Automate (e.g., automated email alerts, approval workflows, or data extraction).
Map "As-Is" and "To-Be" finance processes through process diagrams, business requirement documents (BRD), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts.
Research emerging fintech, automation trends, and AI use cases to evaluate potential application within corporate finance operations.

Governance, Data Quality & Internal Controls
• Ensure operational adherence to corporate financial policies, internal controls, and documentation standards. 
• Review finance workflows to eliminate bottlenecks, close control gaps, and drive process efficiency. 
• Validate financial databases for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

•Undertake assigned projects or duties as directed by Management.

Professional Qualifications & Relevant Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma in Financial Technology, Business Information Systems, Information Technology, Business (Banking & Finance), Industrial & Operations Management, or a related
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications / Microsoft Power Platform Applications or other analysis tools.  
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI for data visualization, Power Automate for basic process automation).is a plus. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.  
  •  Interest in AI, automation, and digital technologies
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) for productivity and research is an advantage.
