Job Description:

The Robot Operator will set up, operate, or tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines or robots that weld, braze, solder, or heat treat metal products, components, or assemblies. Includes workers who operate laser cutters or laser-beam machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform all duties in a safe manner 
  2. Interact in a professional manner with other employees/customers 
  3. Work overtime as necessary 
  4. Responsible to produce all parts to quality standards 
  5. Understand how to setup and operate rod & wire str., automats, benders, from press, welders, frame handler, inline and trimmers 
  6. Learn how gages work in alignment with making quality parts 
  7. Learn how to adjust entron boxes  
  8. Learn how to operate and control pendants  
  9. Learn how to troubleshoot machines and tooling  
  10. Learn how to identify unsatisfactory tooling and components 
  11. Perform lock and tag outs on machines in accordance with safety standards  
  12. May be required to do own trucking and operate material handling devices as needed 
  13. Required to produce to standard rate at a minimum 
  14. Must obtain and maintain required tools 
  15. Must perform and document all required quality checks of parts produced 
  16. Notify Supervisor of any mechanical or material issues 
  17. Maintains a clean and safe work area per area 5S procedures 
  18. Will be assigned to other jobs when the machine is not running 
  19. Other duties as assigned 

Position Supervised or Directed:

Supervised.

Qualifications, Experience requirements:

  • Valid Forklift Certification (we certify onsite)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and calipers 
  • Demonstrate the ability to mechanically set up machines for changeovers and make appropriate adjustments when issues arise
  • Accurate measuring and math skills
  • Advanced knowledge of required measuring tools 
  • Must have verbal and written communication skills 
  • Must have attention to detail and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to follow directions accurately  
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality  

General Requirements:

  • Detailed and hands-on oriented.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical ability, which may include standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working in areas that are not climate controlled for long periods 
  • Manufacturing plant environment 
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes and loud noises.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • SSW machinery 
  • Forklift.
