OVERVIEW 

 

Working within Revenue Protection, the Trading Investigator will be responsible for analysing large and complex datasets to support intellectual property protection, revenue recovery, risk identification and commercial intelligence activities. 

 

The role will focus on identifying trends, anomalies, suspicious activity and commercial opportunities across Sportradar's products, services and partner ecosystem. Combining advanced analytical techniques with investigative thinking, the analyst will produce actionable intelligence, support strategic investigations, and deliver insights that help protect and maximise the value of Sportradar's data, content and commercial rights. 

 

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, commercial awareness, and a naturally inquisitive mindset, enabling them to transform data into meaningful intelligence and business outcomes. 

 

THE CHALLENGE 

  • Analyse large and complex datasets relating to customer activity, product usage, content consumption, distribution channels and commercial operations. 

  • Develop monitoring frameworks to identify unauthorised usage, revenue leakage, abuse, fraud indicators and emerging business risks. 

  • Conduct quantitative analysis to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities across products, services and customer segments. 

  • Support investigations involving contractual non-compliance and other revenue-impacting activities. 

  • Identify relationships, patterns and connections across customers, users, partners and entities of interest. 

  • Produce analytical reports, visualisations and dashboards to support operational and strategic decision-making. 

  • Develop automated processes to improve monitoring, intelligence collection and reporting capabilities. 

  • Partner with Intelligence Analysts, Investigators and Commercial stakeholders to support complex enquiries and investigations. 

  • Work closely with Data Science, Product and Engineering teams to develop scalable analytical solutions. 

  • Conduct behavioural, trend and network analysis to identify clusters, anomalies and indicators of misuse. 

  • Contribute to the development of new methodologies, tools and analytical capabilities that enhance Revenue Protection operations. 

 

YOUR PROFILE 

  • 2+ years' experience in data analytics, business intelligence, fraud analytics, revenue assurance, investigations, compliance, risk management or a related field.  

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.  

  • Experience using Python, R or equivalent analytical tools for data investigation and analysis.  

  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis, data modelling and visualisation techniques.  

  • Experience building dashboards and visualisations using Power BI, Tableau, Looker or similar platforms.  

  • Experience extracting, transforming and analysing data from multiple structured and unstructured sources.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify patterns and root causes.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  

  • Ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.  

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.  

 

Advantageous 

  • Experience in sports, betting, media, technology, digital content, financial services or telecommunications industries.  

  • Experience working with cloud-based analytical environments and data platforms.  

  • Understanding of machine learning, anomaly detection or behavioural modelling.  

  • Experience with graph analytics and network analysis techniques.  

  • Knowledge of API integrations and data engineering concepts.  

  • Additional language skills.
