Product Engineer
About this role
As a Product Engineer at Sphinx, you will operate at the intersection of product and engineering to rapidly prototype AI agent capabilities and ship experiments that shape the company roadmap. You will build and scale products that automate AML, KYC, and transaction monitoring, deploying into production at leading banks and fintechs worldwide to help protect the financial system.
What you'll do
- Identify high-leverage ideas and ship new features from scratch to real customers.
- Own projects end-to-end, designing and shipping frontend interfaces, backend systems, AI integrations, and infrastructure.
- Engage directly with customers to understand compliance pain points, prototype solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
- Run experiments that inform the roadmap and collaborate closely with the CEO and core engineering team to scale what works.
What Sphinx is looking for
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to own full stack development end-to-end.
- Working knowledge of ML/AI systems and hands-on experience integrating AI models into production.
- Ability to move from idea to working prototype in days, discarding what fails and doubling down on what works.
- A product mindset that prioritizes understanding user workflows and pain points before writing code.
- Comfort moving fluidly between product and engineering in a low-process environment.
- Clear communication skills for fast collaboration with engineers, leadership, and customers.
- Creative, opinionated ideas about AI agent capabilities and how people should interact with them.
- Energy for high-stakes impact building tools that help protect the financial system.
