Material Handler
About this role
Position Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control, ensuring timely material movement, and supporting production operations through efficient receiving, stocking, staging, and transaction management. This role provides dedicated ownership of inventory accuracy, material flow, and adherence to established processes to support production schedules and overall operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, identify, and accurately transact incoming materials within the ERP system (X3) to ensure inventory records remain current and accurate.
- Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production areas in alignment with build schedules and daily production priorities.
- Maintain organized inventory locations through proper labeling, storage practices, and material handling procedures.
- Perform inventory transactions accurately, including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments, ensuring system records match physical inventory.
- Support cycle counting activities and investigate inventory discrepancies to improve overall inventory accuracy.
- Partner with Production Planning, Purchasing, Operations, and Maintenance teams to resolve material shortages and improve material availability.
- Manage controlled access to inventory and ensure compliance with established inventory control processes.
- Support implementation and utilization of inventory improvement initiatives, including barcode scanning, improved transaction discipline, and inventory accuracy programs.
- Assist with shipping activities, including preparation, documentation, and coordination of outbound materials as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized stockroom environment in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; manufacturing, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems (X3 experience preferred) and inventory transactions.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow standardized processes.
- Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
