Description
The Safety Specialist supports daily operations by helping maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workplace through employee training, hazard identification, safety inspections, and compliance support. This role works closely with production and maintenance teams to promote safe work practices, identify potential hazards, and help ensure company safety procedures are followed throughout the facility.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay Range: $30.00-$34.00
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Shift: Night Shift
- Hours: Flexible based on operational needs

What You’ll Do
This is a hands-on safety support role in a fast-paced industrial environment. You’ll spend time throughout the plant working with employees, observing operations, providing safety guidance, and helping maintain a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the implementation of company safety policies, procedures, and programs during the night shift
- Provide safety training, job task training, toolbox talks, and refresher training for employees
- Conduct routine safety inspections to verify PPE use, safe work practices, and hazard controls
- Monitor production, maintenance, material handling, and equipment activities for potential safety concerns
- Provide coaching and guidance to employees on safe work practices
- Identify, document, and report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective action follow-up
- Support the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team with safety initiatives and documentation
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and shift documentation
- Assist with compliance activities related to OSHA, EPA, LOTO procedures, and hot work permits
- Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance employees to identify and address workplace hazards

Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of three years of manufacturing or warehouse experience
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work independently during night shift operations
Preferred:
- Safety experience in a heavy industrial environment, preferably metals, foundry, or manufacturing
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices
- Experience working around high-temperature processes, molten metal hazards, and heavy machinery
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
- Ability to obtain and maintain company forklift certification
- Ability to obtain Spectro Alloys Certified Rolling Equipment Certification upon hire (if applicable)
