Job Requirements

Position Summary

Anesthesia Technician will provide support to the anesthesia care team to assist with patient care responsibilities to include anesthesia equipment cleaning, maintenance and troubleshooting, supply management in coordination with materials management, assistance with anesthesia procedures to include but not limited to airway management, line insertion, block insertion, and invasive line assembly. The Anesthesia Technician will ensure the Anesthesia Care Team members have the appropriate equipment and supplies to provide appropriate anesthetic care to each patient.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High school education or equivalent

Experience

  • 5 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician

OR

  • 3 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician at a Level 1 Trauma Center

Required Licenses/Registrations/Certifications

  • N/A

Preferred Requirements

Education

  • Associate's degree or some college level courses

Experience

  • 8 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician

OR

  • 5 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician at a Level 1 Trauma Center

Licenses/Registrations/Certifications

  • Certified Anesthesia Technologist

Core Job Responsibilities

  • The Anesthesia Technician will
  • Ensure that each assigned Operating Room is prepared daily for use by the Anesthesia Care Team
  • Ensure the appropriate equipment required by anesthesia is in the operating room for each case
  • Be available to assist the anesthesia provider with needs such as retrieval of equipment
  • Be at hand and ready to assist as needed for urgent/emergent cases
  • Assist as requested with anesthesia procedures to include but not limited to airway management, line insertion, block insertion, and invasive line assembly.
  • Ensure appropriate stocking of anesthesia carts and storage areas as assigned
  • Clean and restock the anesthesia portion of the operating room in-between anesthesia cases
  • Regularly check expiration dates and remove expired items from stock
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels in the core storage area and the anesthesia stock rooms
  • Ensure that a clean working environment exists in all anesthetizing locations and stock areas
  • Achieve and Maintain proficiency in all Anesthesia Technician assignments (cardiac, OB, out of OR)
  • Stay current in advancements and improvements in the field of Anesthesia Technology
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting for anesthesia equipment
  • Administrative duties as assigned by the Anesthesia Technician Manager (ordering supplies, etc)
