Product Engineer
About this role
Own the module as a product — from design and bill of materials to certification, reliability, and cost per watt — bridging engineering, the line, the supply chain, and the customer.
What you'll do
- Own module product specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and constructional documentation across each production configuration.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) — prototype builds, pilot runs, and rapid iteration to production readiness.
- Select, qualify, and manage materials and components — cells, glass, encapsulant, backsheet, frame, and junction box — with the supply chain.
- Drive certification and qualification (IEC 61215, IEC / UL 61730) with accredited test labs.
- Improve power class, efficiency, reliability, and cost per watt through design and material changes.
- Analyze reliability, field, and warranty data; lead corrective action and continuous improvement with process and quality.
What you bring
- BS / MS in Engineering — Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related.
- 3+ years in product or module engineering in PV or electronics manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of PV module construction, materials, and failure modes.
- Experience with module qualification and certification (IEC 61215 / 61730, UL) and reliability testing.
- BOM management and CAD (e.g. SolidWorks); strong data analysis with a DFM / DFR mindset.
- Hands-on, comfortable bridging design and the production floor.
- Bilingual English / Spanish a plus.
