Job Description

As a Head Chef with Sodexo, you will play a critical role in providing leadership, direction, and operational excellence across your site. You will:

  • Manage and mentor kitchen teams while maintaining a customer‑focused, safe, and welcoming environment
  • Balance hands‑on Chef duties with planning, administration, and stakeholder engagement
  • Drive team performance and uphold Sodexo’s high food safety and quality standards
  • Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures

This is a role for someone who enjoys accountability, variety, and the chance to influence both people and food outcomes.

Qualifications

You are a confident leader who thrives in high‑volume, fast‑paced environments. You handle pressure with ease and bring a passion for excellence. You will also bring:

  • Trade Certificate – Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or Full Working Rights
  • Experience in a similar leadership role (highly desirable)
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service
  • Solid background in large‑scale kitchen operations, ideally within the resources sector
  • Flexibility and resilience to work an 8:6 FIFO roster
  • A positive, can‑do attitude and commitment to team culture
