Job Description

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of general accounting functions, with increased responsibility for financial reporting, project accounting, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare all necessary financial reports, journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations accurately and on a timely basis
  • Daily cash management reports and bank reconciliations
  • Post adjusting journal entries at month-end
  • Preparation of monthly account and bank reconciliations

Cash Management:

  • Deposit cash and scan backup
  • Daily cash management and bank reconciliations

Additional:

  • Support staff on special projects as needed
  • Provide assistance with interim and year-end audits

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 3-8 years of experience in accounting of similar for a major company or division of a large corporation
  • Experience in an Architecture/Engineering or Professional Service Company is a plus
  • Have an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with Excel and Word
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated, self-starter
  • Superior organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Prior experience with Deltek VantagePoint would be a plus
