Work schedule: Monday - Friday 8p-5p, 5 days a week

 

Responsible for setting strategic global direction, release management, and maintenance for web hosted systems that support SBS’s business strategy.  Work closely with the architecture, application, publishing, and other I/T global teams to ensure we are providing the right service level as well as be engaged as a partner as solutions and architectures are decided upon. Manage, control, and administrator the global operation of the web hosting systems teams for both internal and external systems. Scope of responsibility includes web hosting servers, application servers, source code management, project planning and time tracking support system, and collaboration systems. Set directions and have responsibility for evaluation, recommendation, and implementation for alternative approaches to support client requirements and customer service offerings.  Participate in the enterprise application global design life cycle from idea phase through release into post release and maintenance. Responsible for making recommendations on establishment of global standards and policies, capacity management and planning, global budget preparation assistance, and global technology thought leadership.  Reviews and evaluates the work of staff and prepares quarterly performance reports.  Manages multiple projects, professional and technical staff, and other related activities of the area.  

Responsibilities

  • *Manage North America operation and administrative activities for external facing application support.
  • *Manage global operation and administrative activities of support environments of source code management (re.; Accurev), project planning and time tracking system (re.; PlanView), collaboration system (re.; MS SharePoint), and I/S request ticketing system (re.; Jira).
  • *Serve as a technical resource and focal point for global application and architecture teams and provide problem resolution for supported infrastructure.
  • *Review performance and capacity management reports and work closely with other areas of I/T to resolve issues and develop solutions for new capacity needs/requirements. Recommend global web systems performance tuning activities.
  • *Sits on IT change management committee.
  • *Provide general supervision to direct and dotted line reports. Monitor and evaluate performance, conduct disciplinary discussions when necessary, make compensation adjustment and merit increase recommendations, etc.
  • *Insure that the information assets of the Company and the commercial clients are protected at all times.
  • *Conduct periodic planning sessions with application and architecture teams, business unit leaders, and internal teams to guide direction within standards.
  • *Maintain/enhance technical expertise and industry knowledge including database technologies, publishing tools, Solaris/Linux technologies, storage networks, enterprise backup, and process improvement tools and techniques.
  • *Identify and alert management of problems that will impact progress on projects and other activities.
  • *Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience, post graduate experience preferred. Related work experience and industry recognized certifications will be considered.
  • Eight (8) or more years of extensive experience in web systems and/or infrastructure/information services activities leading and/or managing the efforts of technical specialists.
  • Experience with web systems in Oracle WebLogic, Tomcat, and Apache a must.
  • Experience with application development tools preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and ability to work with clients, technical staff, and vendors.
