The UAV Site Operations Coordinator will oversee the logistics and maintenance of ground support assets necessary for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations. The role involves direct oversight of all 3PL & Logistics resources contracted to execute daily activities such as flight line setup, flight line maintenance, delivery of UAVs, and ensuring safety compliance. The Site Operations Coordinator is responsible for interaction with various departments and vendors, ensure operational standards are followed, and troubleshoot technical issues related to UAV ground support technology. This position requires a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and regulatory knowledge to ensure safe and efficient flight operations.

Coordinators Responsibilities

Trains and qualifies 3PL resources assigned to UAV operations.
Organizes and oversees the schedules and work instructions to the 3PL team.
Conducts regular operational reviews with 3PL to ensure UAV operational objectives are met.

Operational Oversight

Oversee the preparation and maintenance of sites to ensure readiness for UAV flight operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and safety protocols.
Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of UAV-related equipment at sites and delivery of UAVs to sites, ensuring readiness for flight.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure that all support operations are carried out in a safe manner.
Maintain working understanding of evolving UAV regulations and ensure the team stays updated on industry changes.

Fleet & Equipment Management

Supervise the maintenance and troubleshooting of UAV-related equipment.
Coordinate with the technical team to ensure timely repairs and updates for UAV-related equipment.
Manage inventory of UAVs, UAV-related equipment, tools, and accessories, ensuring all required materials are stocked and available.

Training & Development

Facilitate training for new and existing technicians on operational procedures and safety protocols using SMS and Wing-approved documentation.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain detailed records operations, maintenance logs, incident reports, and training progress.
Prepare and submit regular reports on UAV operations, maintenance activities, and any operational challenges.
Work with management to improve workflows, operations, and ensure continuous improvements.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience

Prefer knowledge of drone technology.
Basic to intermediate computer skills are necessary.
Prefer professional, academic, or personal experience in drone technology.
Prefer FAA Part 107 license.

Essential Skills

Possess superior time management, organizational, and communication skills.
Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to interface cooperatively with departmental team members and clients.
Needs strong safety and work ethic and be able to recognize the importance of properly handling hazardous materials, chemicals, toots, etc.
Must have proficient computer skills and other relevant computer application skills related to UAV technology.
Experience in the commercial or industrial use of UAVs. (Preferred)
Show strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical assembly instructions.
Needs the ability to think in 3D.
Must have strong concentration skills.
Needs the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Working Conditions

Must be able to tolerate outside work environment. Must be physically fit to walk for extensive periods of time. Individuals may need to reach over shoulder heights; bend or stoop below the waist; preform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting to 100 pounds (as team lift).
