About this role
As a Journeyperson Welder, you'll help keep critical mining and heavy equipment operating safely and reliably through high-quality repair, fabrication, and assembly work. We're looking for someone who is skilled, safety-focused, and committed to craftsmanship in a fast-paced industrial environment.
In this role, you'll work with Komatsu and other heavy-duty equipment, applying your technical expertise to support equipment performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys solving complex equipment challenges.
Base Wage: $52.31 per hour. Additional premiums apply
Location: Kamloops, BC
Schedule: 7x7 rotation
What You'll Do
- Repair, fabricate, and assemble Komatsu and other heavy-duty industrial equipment.
- Interpret and follow layouts, blueprints, drawings, and work orders accurately.
- Modify and customize mobile equipment and components to customer specifications.
- Perform welding repairs to support equipment reliability and performance.
- Participate in failure analysis and collaborate with the Service Manager to develop repair solutions.
- Provide welding support primarily in the shop and occasionally in the field.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Complete work efficiently while meeting quality and safety standards.
What You Bring
You bring Journeyperson Welder certification and experience performing welding repairs on heavy industrial or mining equipment. You are committed to safe, high-quality workmanship and can work effectively with minimal supervision in demanding environments.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of maintenance and repair practices for mining or heavy equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills to support equipment repair and failure analysis.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with colleagues and customers.
