About this role
As a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician with SMS Equipment, you'll support customers across Northern British Columbia, working on a diverse range of mining, forestry, construction, and utility equipment.
From new equipment builds and major component replacements to field service and diagnostics, no two assignments are the same. This role offers the opportunity to expand your technical expertise, work on industry-leading equipment, and tackle challenging work in a variety of environments.

Base Wage: $52.31 per hour. Additional premiums will apply.

* Premiums may bring total compensation to approximately $58.81 per hour depending on schedule. Additional assignment-based allowances may apply.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy mining and construction equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, component replacements, overhauls, and new equipment builds.
- Use computerized and manual diagnostic tools to identify equipment issues and complete repairs efficiently.
- Conduct inspections and identify repair requirements to help minimize equipment downtime.
- Work independently in remote field environments while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
- Contribute to safe work practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the site
What You Bring
You bring Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement, along with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and a commitment to performing safe, quality work in demanding field environments.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Ability to work independently in remote field conditions while maintaining a safety-first approach.
