Job Purpose

 

This is a Finance executive role to support RTS Operations Pte Ltd, the joint-venture between Prasarana and SMRT. You will collaborate with various stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

Executive duties and responsibilities are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day accounting, including payment processing, invoicing and ensure all accounting entries of Singapore and Malaysia operations are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Maintain full set of accounts according to Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International), Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards, Singapore and Malaysia tax regulations, company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare all statutory filings are submitted timely.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and ensure no discrepancies in month-end balances.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end statutory and management reporting with preparation of variance analysis, cashflow statement, accounting schedules and bank reconciliation.
  • Prepare group financial consolidation for the holding company and its Malaysia branch.
  • Prepare quarterly consolidation packages for reporting to shareholders.
  • Prepare of annual budget, monthly forecast and projections, including coordination of inputs from business unit for budget and projections to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Monitor monthly cash flows and working capital requirements and preparing monthly cash flow projections for reporting to management and Board.
  • Draft financial presentation materials to present data/figures for quarterly Board meetings.
  • Manage the treasury function to minimize foreign exchange exposure and ensure sufficient liquidity.
  • Ensure all tax filings are done timely. Comply with and make recommendations on all tax related matters, i.e. corporate tax, withholding tax, indirect tax issue and any other changes in tax legislation announced by local authorities.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with financial policy and procedures.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc financial analysis to support key strategic decisions and initiatives by the business unit.
  • Required to shuttle between Singapore and the RTSO office in JB, Malaysia.
  • Other ad-hoc duties when assigned.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or ACCA.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in accounting and finance, specialising in GL and management reporting, with strong analytical exposure.

Skills

 

Technical skills include:

  • Good working knowledge in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International), Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Good working knowledge with ERP systems, such as SAP B1.

 

Generic skills include:

  • Good interpersonal skills and communicate with all levels in the organization and stakeholders in both verbal and written English.
  • Ability to work independently and operate in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in transport and operations-related industries would be advantageous.
