Job Purpose

Support the Education & Outreach team to plan and deliver SMRT’s educational programmes and engagement initiatives. Raise awareness of SMRT’s operations, maintenance, and service capabilities to build commuter affinity and strengthen brand reputation.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Education & Outreach, you will lead SMRT’s Learning Journey and SRDC programmes, and take on other education and engagement projects as assigned. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role spanning commuter engagement, project management, and stakeholder management. Responsibilities are not limited to those listed below and may evolve over time.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the planning and delivery of the SMRT Learning Journey & Singapore Rail Discovery Centre (SRDC) programmes at the train depots
    1. Plan, deliver, and refresh content for the Learning Journey Programme (LJP) and SRDC tours, including the preparation and upkeep of tour materials.
    2. Liaise with visiting schools, organisations and members of public to coordinate visits.
    3. Facilitate LJP/SRDC sessions as a presenter and oversee the rostering, training, and deployment of support staff.
    4. Develop and execute publicity plans to drive participation.
    5. Manage feedback and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to improve programme delivery.
    6. Coordinate with relevant authorities and internal stakeholders to secure safety and security clearances for tours.
    7. Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of the SRDC facility.

2. Lead and support other education and community engagement projects

  1. Take the lead on assigned education and outreach projects, campaigns, and initiatives for schools, organisations, and the public.
  2. Collaborate with internal and external teams to plan and execute community engagement activities, including events at MRT stations.
  3. Build and maintain working relationships with government agencies, Social Service Agencies, schools, and community partners.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in community relations, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, or operations management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging government agencies and community members
  • Proven project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Resourceful, proactive, with strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and manage multiple priorities

Skills

Technical

  • Proficient in PowerPoint Presentation and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in facilitation and training is required.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in a mother tongue or other languages is an advantage.
  • Design skills are an advantage.
