Job Purpose

 

Support the secure and efficient management of the organisation's Identity and Access Management (IAM) services by ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, administering the joiner–mover–leaver (JML) lifecycle, monitoring system activities, facilitating periodic access reviews, and supporting the onboarding and integration of new systems. The incumbent is expected to develop a strong understanding of the organisation's identity and access management framework and apply this knowledge to effectively support current and future IAM platforms and technologies.

Responsibilities

 

The System Operation Manager duties and responsibilities include: 

 

  • Review daily discovery and provisioning logs; action exceptions and resolve failures.
  • Execute and verify offboarding / deprovisioning; support joiner and mover events.
  • Coordinate and follow up on access reviews / recertifications to completion.
  • Support requirement gathering and test integrations end to end for new systems.
  • Read logs, troubleshoot, and trace issues across connected systems.
  • Communicate clearly with HR and end users; document procedures and runbooks.

Qualifications & Work Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2–5 years in IAM operations, identity administration, or IT security operations.
  • Strong candidates with adjacent experience and clear IAM aptitude will also be considered.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one IAM / IGA or access platform
  • Experience operating within ITSM / ticketing workflows and meeting defined SLAs.
  • Exposure to access governance, audit, or compliance activities is an advantage.

Skills

 

  • Sound understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles, including Joiner–Mover–Leaver (JML) lifecycle, user provisioning and deprovisioning, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), access certification, and Segregation of Duties (SoD).
  • Working knowledge of identity services and directory technologies, such as LDAP, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Understanding of system integration concepts, including identity provisioning, authentication, and access management workflows across enterprise applications.
  • Ability to test and validate IAM integrations, provisioning processes, and access workflows to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new IAM platforms and technologies, with a strong understanding of core IAM principles rather than reliance on a specific product.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying, analysing, and reconciling identity and access data, as well as supporting reporting requirements.
  • Experience with C#/.NET is preferred for scripting, troubleshooting, and developing custom integrations.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages and APIs, including PowerShell and REST/JSON, with an understanding of audit and compliance requirements.
