Our Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials (OHHM) team has an opportunity for a Hygiene Technician to join our Perth Office, on a full-time basis.
In this role, you will work alongside industry leaders, within both the local team and throughout wider Australia. We are a high-performing, friendly and collaborative group, looking to connect with candidates with some experience and an interest to progress and benefit from our expertise and support with ongoing learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Monitor occupational health exposure for hazards including dust, diesel particulate matter, welding fumes, noise, asbestos fibres and chemicals
- Develop reliable and detailed sampling plans
- Conducting field task observations, reviewing sample data and inputting into company database
- Providing accurate and reliable data for technical reports and proposals, contributing to SLR projects
- Respirator and hearing protection fit testing
- Travel to regional and remote sites as required to conduct fieldwork
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience within OHS/Hazmat, writing reports, analysing data
- Capable to travel regularly and flexibility in working arrangements
- Excellent verbal and written communication, communicating to both technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- A valid driver's licence (a C-class Manual Licence is advantageous)
- Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia
Desirable:
- Exposure within the resource industry or working on a mine site
- Exposure to Mine Air Quality training or Noise Dosimetry training
- Relevant Qualifications such as in Occupational Hygiene, Chemistry, Science, Nursing/Medical or Environmental disciplines
