Position: Service Engineer

Location: SKF Malaysia Sdn Bhd

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Gain and maintain general knowledge about SKF Connected Technologies (CT) Products and related Services,
  • Perform high quality service through vibration analysis and troubleshooting using SKF CT Products, and when required, corrective actions such as alignment and balancing.
  • Gain and maintain sufficient knowledge about SKF’s portfolio of Maintenance and Power Transmission (MPT) Products including basic monitoring tools,
  • Expand competency in other condition monitoring techniques such as thermography, ultrasonic and lubricant analysis,
  • Prepare the service reports on diagnosis and prognosis activity for submission to customers,
  • Utilize SKF database to maintain all reporting logs, diagnosis history and asset information sheets,
  • Prepare necessary documentation for billing process,
  • Initiate contact and follow-up on any Service enquiries,
  • Offer timely technical support or training on the SKF products to internal and external customers,
  • Maintain and ensure availability of essential spare parts for the execution of the projects and services,
  • Liaise with peers within ISEA region to ensure continuous support on Condition Monitoring Products with optimum quality.

 

Desired Qualification, Experience and Traits:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, in the field of Mechanical or equivalent.
  • Certified vibration analyst Level I or II is appreciated.
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role on sales or services using any modern condition monitoring products. Troubleshooting skill is a plus point.
  • Knowledge across condition monitoring products and services is essential.
  • General understanding of rotating machinery requirements and standards will be an added advantage.
  • Willing to travel regularly on pay-and-claim basis to customer sites with own transport within West Malaysia and arranged transport within East Malaysia.
  • Must be aware and comply with applicable safety regulations and standards.
  • Ability to follow and read work instructions, prints, schematics, drawings etc.
  • Ability to draft and make schematics or drawings is a plus point.
  • Must be well organized and possess the ability to prioritize tasks while working with short deadlines and in line with SKF practices.
  • Good ability to communicate clearly and concisely, write legible proposal and agreement, business correspondence, and guidance notes.
  • Agile, sales-oriented, and pro-active.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
