We are expanding our team and seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Operator to join the team at our workshop in North London.

The Role

We need a skilled CNC Homag Operator to join our busy manufacturing and workshop team. You will run Homag CNC routing, nesting machinery to produce high-quality furniture and joinery parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, test, and run Homag CNC machinery safely and accurately.

  • Read and understand technical drawings, CAD files, and cut lists.

  • Load programs using software like WoodWOP and adjust tool offsets or parameters.

  • Load raw wood panels and unload finished components.

  • Check finished parts with measuring tools to ensure correct sizes and high quality.

  • Change worn cutting tools and perform daily basic machine cleaning and maintenance.

  • Keep the work area clean and follow all health and safety rules.

About You
To be considered as a CNC Operator, you will need:

  • A minimum of three year’s experience in CNC programming, specifically within a woodworking or cabinet-making environment

  • Experience operating and programming multi-axis Homag CNC machining centres such as BHC, Centateq or Weeke

  • Knowledge of woodworking and joinery processes, including the machining characteristics of materials such as MDF, solid wood and laminates

  • An understanding of G-Code principles

  • Familiarity with Homag software, such as WoodWOP (or similar platforms like CutRite) or a strong foundation in Alphacam or Solidworx with a willingness to cross-train

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for design review and program generation

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to precision and quality control

  • Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude for calculating feeds, speeds and clearances

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively relay complex technical information to the production team

  • A relevant technical certification, vocational degree or apprenticeship in CNC Machining, Woodworking Technology or a related engineering field (preferred)
