Are you ready to love your job?

The adventure begins right here, with you, at SITA.

PURPOSE

You will design, develop, test, and maintain C#/.NET components for the One CUSS Platform initiative. The role contributes to a unified CUSS platform that supports modern CUSS 2 capabilities while preserving controlled backward compatibility with CUSS 1.x where required. The developer will work from the Cluj office as part of a distributed engineering team collaborating with teams in Dortmund, product management, architecture, QA, operations, and integration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop production-ready C#/.NET services, libraries, APIs, and integration components for the One CUSS Platform.
  • Contribute to platform capabilities around device abstraction, command execution, event handling, status reporting, lifecycle management, and configuration-driven behavior.
  • Support integration with the VPS layer and related adapters so that platform commands, events, and device status can be exchanged reliably between One CUSS and airport peripheral devices.
  • Implement secure, service-oriented communication patterns aligned with CUSS 2 principles, including API-driven contracts, structured JSON/YAML data exchange, WebSocket-based interactions where applicable, TLS-secured communication, and OAuth2-based authentication flows.
  • Contribute to migration away from legacy, tightly coupled communication mechanisms by supporting message-broker-based integration and removal of insecure internal communication paths.
  • Collaborate on integration topics such as One Config Tool / ECC configuration access, monitoring and logging, installation and deployment support, endpoint management, payment, biometric, SBD, and other ecosystem interfaces as required by the roadmap.
  • Write automated unit, component, integration, and regression tests; support QA with repeatable verification procedures, test evidence, and defect analysis.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, interface contracts, implementation notes, runbooks, and onboarding material in the agreed project documentation format.
  • Participate actively in agile delivery ceremonies, refinement, estimation, sprint planning, code reviews, incident analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work with architects, senior developers, and product stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify risks, and deliver increments that are maintainable, observable, supportable, and ready for certification activities.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional software engineering experience in a development capacity, preferably in C#/.NET backend or platform development.
  • Hands-on experience with .NET, C#, object-oriented design, API development, asynchronous programming, and automated testing.
  • Experience building or integrating distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, REST/OpenAPI services, WebSockets, message brokers, or event-driven communication is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with configuration-driven systems, device integration, hardware abstraction, industrial peripherals, kiosks, payment, biometric, or airport self-service environments is an advantage.
  • Experience working in agile teams using Azure DevOps or comparable tools for backlog management, source control, pull requests, builds, and release tracking.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Good knowledge of C#, .NET, object-oriented design principles, SOLID, design patterns, dependency injection, and clean code practices.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI contracts, JSON/YAML data models, WebSocket communication, asynchronous workflows, and event-driven design.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, data access patterns, logging, telemetry, diagnostics, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of secure software development concepts, including authentication, authorization, TLS, secrets handling, secure configuration, vulnerability mitigation, and privacy-aware logging.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts, automated builds, automated tests, package management, source control workflows, and code review practices.
  • Ability to read and translate architecture decisions, feature descriptions, acceptance criteria, and interface contracts into working software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues across platform services, configuration tools, hardware abstraction layers, logs, and external dependencies.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English with developers, QA, product owners, architects, operations teams, and stakeholders across locations.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn the CUSS domain, SITA platform architecture, peripheral device behavior, and airport self-service processes.
