  1. Position Overview

 

The Logistics Clerk will receive and ship equipment, parts, and supplies documenting all transactions accurately. They will also ensure shipments to customers, subcontracted vendors, or transfers to other SIMCO locations are adequately packaged to ensure safe transportation and arrival at the designated destination, while also being responsible for picking up and delivering customer equipment to and from the company facility. Additionally, ensure shipments to customers or subcontracted vendors or transferred to other SIMCO locations are properly packaged to ensure safe transportation and arrival at the designated destination.

 

The Logistics Clerk will also drive company vehicles as required, to conduct local pickup/deliveries and/or shuttle runs between SIMCO locations meeting at a middle point to exchange both customers’ and SIMCO equipment. They will adequately load the vehicles to ensure safe transportation and handling of all equipment. This may include pickup/delivery at identified customers on specific days, and sporadically covering for the regular driver, professionally representing SIMCO Electronics acting as a liaison between customers and SIMCO Electronics.

 

Perform Final Inspector activities to inspect all completed service actions from the laboratory for completeness and correctness of all SIMCO documentation, cleanliness, and proper labeling of the completed M&TE and to complete the service process by signing the documentation as the SIMCO Quality Representative and properly status all SCP’s in SMCS. As needed and as directed by the laboratory Manager or the Corporate Quality Representative/director.

 

 

  1. Key Responsibilities 

 

  1. Drive company vehicles to conduct pickup and delivery of our customers’ equipment.
  2. Adequately load/pack the vehicles to ensure safe transportation and handling of all equipment.
  3. Review daily pick-up and delivery paperwork to determine where the pick-up and deliveries are to occur.
  4. Review and establish routes for pick up and deliveries.
  5. Maintain records and/or dates for vehicle maintenance for oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
  6. Regularly interact with customers and with Customer Service Representatives.
  7. Professionally represent SIMCO Electronics and act as a liaison between customers and SIMCO.
  8. Organize and separate equipment for will call, cash on delivery, and shipment.
  9. Update the computer system with appropriate status of will call, COD, and shipped items as required.
  10. Process appropriate documentation to the accounting, purchasing, and customer service departments.
  11. Properly pack all equipment requiring shipment for transportation to customers/vendors to ensure it arrives undamaged.
  12. Reject damaged goods or materials and correspondence with shipper to adjust damages or shortages.
  13. Participate in the assembling and shipping of outgoing merchandise or material.
  14. Print daily reports of outgoing shipments made on the FedEx and UPS systems.
  15. Receive in all materials (parts), subcontracted equipment, and customer equipment according to procedures, and distribute to the appropriate areas/employees.
  16. Initiate non-conformance documentation for damaged/incorrect materials (parts)/certification from vendor/subcontractor.
  17. Maintain well-organized files and records of transfers, UPS, FedEx, and airway bills shipped daily.
  18. Update the computer with the freight charges and airway bill numbers for customer shipments.
  19. Verify and inspect all completed service actions from the laboratory for completeness and correctness of all SIMCO documentation.
  20. Drive company vehicles to conduct inter-company shuttle between SIMCO labs on specific days.
  21. Pickup and delivery of key customers equipment on specific days.
  22. Adequately load/pack the vehicles to ensure safe transportation and handling of all equipment.
  23. Review daily pickup and delivery paperwork to determine where the pickup and deliveries are to occur including the transfers shippers for the shuttle run.

 

  1. Qualifications 

 

  1. Must be able to operate a personal computer, keyboard, and pointing device.
  2. Knowledgeable in the use of Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Browsers.
  3. Knowledgeable of incoming and final inspection practices.
  4. Knowledgeable of standard material handling and packaging practices.
  5. Skilled in the use of foam-in-place packaging equipment.
  6. Experience working in the shipping and receiving department.
  7. Knowledge of freight companies.
  8. Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and Airborne Express shipping equipment (i.e. power shipping and use of internet-based shipping systems).
  9. Familiar with FedEx, and UPS online tracking systems.
  10. Ability to relate information clearly and concisely in English both orally and in writing.
  11. Experience working in a highly dynamic Team oriented environment.

 

  1. Physical Demands  

 

Requires sitting for extended periods of time.

Must be capable of lifting up to 45 lbs without assistance. 

Occasional standing and bending are required as is repetitive computer work.

 

 

  1. Working Environment 

 

The employee works in a warehouse environment with controlled temperatures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to airborne fumes, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Travel is required and may take up to 4 hours on any given day.
