Lead DevOps Engineer (FDE)
About this role
- Lead customer discovery and translate business goals into clear technical plans, milestones, and success metrics.
- Own strategic enterprise deployments from pilot through production, with a target deployment timeline of 30-90 days.
- Build production integrations across customer data warehouses, CRMs, identity providers, approval workflows, and internal systems.
- Develop agentic AI applications using LLMs, RAG, tool calling, structured outputs, and multi-step workflows.
- Design evaluation frameworks, golden datasets, monitoring, and quality controls for customer-specific use cases.
- Manage executive and technical stakeholders, communicate risks, and lead customer enablement and change management.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to convert customer needs into reusable product features.
- Mentor FDEs, define delivery standards, and help establish the team’s hiring and operating playbook.
- Support production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure solutions remain secure, reliable, and maintainable.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
- Strong experience with Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, or Rust; Python is preferred.
- Hands-on experience building production LLM or agentic AI applications.
- Experience with RAG, prompt design, tool calling, agent orchestration, embeddings, and vector databases.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, data pipelines, SQL, cloud platforms, Docker, and enterprise integrations.
- Familiarity with authentication and identity technologies such as OAuth, SAML, SSO, SCIM, Okta, or Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience working directly with enterprise customers and managing complex, multi-stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to explain technical decisions in terms of business value, cost, risk, and delivery timelines.
- Strong written communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading complex technical engagements.
