Social Worker/Counselor - Mood Disorders
About this role
The Adult Mood Disorders Unit at Sheppard Pratt is a 19-bed unit that treats adult patients with a variety of mood disorders. Patients are treated under the expert care of experienced psychiatrists, nursing, and other clinical staff.
What to expect.
We are seeking a licensed social worker or counselor to provide mental health services to adults in crisis. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans, conduct psychosocial assessments, and deliver both individual and group therapy sessions.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Provide a wide range of social work/counseling services to an assigned caseload of patients in support of established treatment plan goals and discharge plans.
- Complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment on each patient assigned at time of admission.
- Provide individual meetings and family meetings with patients and families to monitor progress, reinforce coping skills, provide psychoeducation, and develop safety plans.
- Assist patients with case management needs and coordinate aftercare planning.
- Function as member of an interdisciplinary treatment team and participate in treatment rounds with patients on assigned caseload.

What we need from you.
- Must possess one of the following Maryland licenses at time of hire:
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
- Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C)
- Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC)
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
The pay range for this position is $60,569.60- $105,414.40. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, board certifications and years and level of related experience.
