The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt consists of a 22 bed residential program nationally renowned for expert care. The Retreat is designed for patients seeking a comprehensive evaluation and intensive treatment experience in a psychotherapeutic milieu, unencumbered by the payment policies of third parties in order to give our residents a chance to make meaningful progress toward recovery.

This is a PRN opportunity that includes alternating weekends.

The Retreat offers an elegantly appointed setting in a specially renovated space on Sheppard Pratt's main campus in Towson (Baltimore County).  Residents stay for an intermediate length of several weeks to several months.  The Retreat embodies a multi-disciplinary treatment approach to a variety of psychiatric conditions that can be treated safely and effectively in a voluntary, unlocked environment. These psychiatric conditions may include mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders including substance-use disorders.

As a Mental Health Worker you will:

  • Participate in the planning and evaluation of patient needs based on patient behaviors.
  • Provide direct patient care services in accordance with the treatment plan and under the direction of a professional nurse.
  • Assist in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures

The pay range for this position is $19.36 minimum to $28.70 maximum.  Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma/GED. 
  • Human Services related degree or past direct care or related experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be available to work every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
  • Must be available to attend 7 day mandatory clinical orientation training: Thursday, Friday and the following Monday through Friday (excluding Saturday & Sunday), 8:00am-4:30pm each day.
  • In addition to the 7 day clinical orientation, you will be required to complete a 4 week unit orientation.  During this time you will be required to work 3 day shifts per week.
  • A driver’s license with 3-points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Depending on assignment, must possess valid driver's license at time of appointment and must meet Sheppard Pratt requirements to operate a vehicle.
