This is not a support-level safety position. We need a leader who can take ownership of the site.

We are hiring a Lead Safety Manager to provide full-time safety leadership for a heavy civil contractor supporting a major medical facility expansion in Rochester, Minnesota.

The selected professional will serve as the contractor's primary safety presence, partnering with field leadership, project management, and client representatives to keep operations compliant, organized, and moving safely.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN:

  • Day-to-day management of the contractor's site safety program
    • Daily field inspections, observations, audits, and hazard correction
    • Safety oversight for heavy civil construction operations and mobile equipment
    • Review of JHAs, pre-task plans, permits, and high-risk work activities
    • Safety orientations, toolbox talks, and project safety meetings
    • Coaching of field employees, foremen, and project leadership
    • Incident and near-miss investigations with corrective-action follow-up
    • Coordination with project management, client representatives, and other contractors
    • Accurate daily reporting and maintenance of required safety documentation

NON-NEGOTIABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience
    • Heavy civil construction safety experience is required
    • Safety degree is required
    • Previous lead, site-level, or primary safety leadership experience
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and heavy civil hazards
    • Ability to lead from the field and influence crews at every level
    • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
    • Availability to start September 7, 2026
