Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality Coordinator: Minerals Trade Energy is responsible to implement, maintain and to continuously evaluate and improve the Quality Management System.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement, maintain, control and evaluate the Quality Management System to be ready for external assessment at any time.
- Control and assist Line Management with the management of the ISO 17025 Quality Management System and audit readiness
- Plan and conduct scheduled inspections and assist with internal audits to ensure compliance with the ISO 17025 QMS schedules.
- Register IR’s. Guide and assist with the opening of IR’s, the investigation thereof, conducting root cause analysis and closing out of IR’s. Maintain IR file
- Assist with corrective and remedial actions and complaints.
- Ensure implementation of corrective and remedial actions and compliance thereto.
- Evaluate improvement systems and assist with trend analysis.
- Monitor and action all activities with regards the Proficiency Testing Schemes.
- Co-ordinate and evaluate the Proficiency Testing program.
- Assume accountability and responsibility in ensuring that all remedial actions/complaints/IR findings are closed out within agreed timeframes.
- Evaluate the monthly QA/QC charts and advice on any possible actions to minimize outliers and bias results.
- Create quality awareness at all staff levels.
- Assist with training and training matrixes to be kept up to date and remind Line Management when training is due
- Assist Line Management with management reviews.
- Tailor procedures and processes for reliability and maintainability – manage the doc change process as per QMS
- Daily/Monthly checks to be done on the QC’s – CRM in use, QC charts, verifications, quality checks, calibrations and efficiencies.
- Daily report back to the Business Manager on the QC status
- Assist with the scheduling and conducting of monthly Quality meetings
- Compile a monthly Quality System report for the Business Manager.
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS Quality Management System.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Degree/Diploma in Quality Management and/or Chemistry and/or proven years of laboratory, knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to be recognized as a qualification through - Recognition of Prior Learning.
- TQMS
- Working knowledge of ISO17025
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum of 3 years in the field of Analytical Services, an understanding of the Coal services would be an advantage
- Fully acquainted with LIMS system.
- Full knowledge of Laboratory Quality Management System (ISO17025).
- Full knowledge of internal auditing an advantage
- Good co-ordination and management skills.
- Facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding attention to detail
