VA Treatment Coordinator – Veteran Patient Support & Scheduling

What You’ll Do:
Communicate with patients, Veterans, and staff to schedule prescribed dental procedures efficiently and accurately.
Review, input, phase, and maintain treatment plans.
Coordinate referrals by contacting specialists for outside treatment.
Serve as back-up for the Front Office Associate as needed, answer phones and greet patients professionally.
Administer insurance pre-authorizations and pre-certifications through HSRM.
Manage VA enrollment processes, HSRM requirements, and Community Care/RSF submissions.
Track and submit authorizations to ensure timely scheduling.
Ensure compliance with Optum Serve authorization and payment systems.
Maintain working knowledge of VA credentialing (initial and ongoing).
Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and protect electronic PHI.
Ensure accuracy of patient demographic, insurance, and clinical data.
What You Need:
- Previous experience working with Veterans Affairs Community Care or medical/dental insurance coordination required.
- HSRM and Optum experience required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and treatment planning.
- Experience with dental practice management software (Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of dental administrative experience required.
