Consultant Acute Medicine (Western Qualified) Leading Healthcare Facility
About this role
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute medical conditions, emergencies, and critical illnesses.
- Provide timely and evidence-based medical interventions for patients requiring urgent treatment.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and diagnostic findings.
- Perform and interpret appropriate diagnostic investigations, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
- Monitor patient progress and recognize clinical deterioration, initiating appropriate escalation of care when required.
- Coordinate closely with specialists, nurses, emergency teams, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and timely patient management.
- Manage patients with complex and multiple acute medical conditions within the scope of practice.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely documentation of patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and relevant research activities.
- Maintain compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, hospital policies, professional standards, and ethical principles.
- Western Board qualification in Acute Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related specialty.
- Valid medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Proven clinical experience in managing acute and complex medical conditions in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Eligibility for UAE Health Authority licensing (DHA / DOH / MOHAP, as applicable).
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-pressure and fast-paced clinical environments.
- Proficiency in performing and interpreting appropriate diagnostic procedures and investigations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety, clinical quality, and evidence-based practice.
- Ability to make sound clinical decisions and prioritize patients according to urgency and clinical needs.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with current medical guidelines and advances in acute medicine.
- Candidates must meet applicable UAE licensing, credentialing, and DataFlow/Primary Source Verification requirements.
