Sr Engineer (Slider Factory Control System Engineer)

About our group:
Factory Control Systems (FCS) is responsible for driving, developing, and deploying solutions that enhance the performance, quality, and efficiency of Slider manufacturing processes. We deliver data analytics, data visualization, advanced process control systems, and AI/Machine Learning solutions to accelerate Smart Factory initiatives and Slider modernization. We work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Process Engineering, Maintenance Engineering and customers, to drive manufacturing excellence and support HAMR and future-generation products.
About the role - you will:
- Analyze KPIV and KPOV data to identify root causes, drive corrective actions, and prevent process failures or downstream excursions.
- Develop and deploy advanced process control and AI-driven solutions to improve manufacturing performance, including SPC automation, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and failure prevention.
- Design and implement automated monitoring and visualization systems using SQL, KNIME, Python, Power-BI and Tableau, integrating data from multiple enterprise sources to provide real-time insights and early detection of process anomalies.
- Collaborate with Process Engineering (PE), Maintenance Engineering (ME), IT, and cross-functional teams to operationalize analytics, AI/ML, and process control solutions that enhance process stability, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
About you:
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a good command of English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Proficiency in data analytics, software development, and solution design to deliver high-quality business applications.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI technologies, with the ability to apply them to solve manufacturing and business challenges.
Your experience includes:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related Engineering field.
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing data analytics, process control, software development, AI/ML, or related fields.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and deploy data-driven, automation, and AI/ML solutions to address manufacturing and business challenges.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, database technologies, and web development tools; experience with Java, C#, or other programming languages is an advantage.
- Experience with data analytics, visualization, and workflow automation platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, KNIME, JMP, Minitab, or equivalent tools.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, and their practical applications in manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of Slider manufacturing processes and KPIV/KPOV concepts is an added advantage.
