Las Rozas de Madrid · Hybrid

About this role

SD Worx is a leading European provider of Payroll & HR services with global reach. We have offices across Europe and in Mauritius. Our purpose is to bring people solutions to life, enabling organisations of all sizes to turn Human Resources into a source of value for both the business and its people.

If you are passionate about Spanish payroll, SAP payroll operations, statutory compliance, and customer-focused payroll service delivery, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact in a growing international team.

About the role:

As the MPS Payroll Specialist Spain, you will be a key contributor to the delivery of managed payroll services for Spanish SAP MPS customers.

This role focuses on the execution, validation, coordination, and continuous improvement of Spanish payroll services delivered through SAP, in line with agreed MPS service scopes and customer-specific operating models.

You will support the payroll cycle for Spanish SAP MPS customers, including SAP payroll calculation, payroll validation, Social Security processes, statutory payroll outputs, IRPF-related activities, payments preparation, leaver and finiquito processing, year-end activities, and operational coordination with customer HR, payroll, and service teams.

The role also involves maintaining and improving operational documentation such as SOPs, DWIs, process instructions, payroll procedures, customer-specific manuals, and local working practices.

Which tasks can you expect?

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of Spanish payroll services for SAP MPS customers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to agreed service levels and payroll calendars.

  • Execute and validate payroll processing in SAP, including payroll calculations, gross-to-net checks, variance analysis, payroll corrections, payroll closure, and post-payroll activities.

  • Handle Social Security and statutory payroll activities, including Sistema RED/SLD processes, employee lifecycle changes, IRPF support, year-end activities, and payroll-related reporting.

  • Prepare payroll outputs such as payslips, payment files, accounting reports, CRA/SLD files, and other statutory documentation required for Spanish payroll processing.

  • Build and maintain payroll procedures, work instructions, and customer-specific documentation to support operational excellence and service consistency.

  • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll queries, manage dependencies, identify risks, and ensure a high-quality service experience.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimize payroll processes, controls, and operational efficiency.

  • Support testing, system changes, and payroll-related projects, working closely with SAP and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.

What do you have to offer?

  • 3-5 years of experience in Spanish payroll delivery, ideally within a payroll outsourcing, managed services (MPS), BPO, or enterprise payroll environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Spanish payroll processes, including payroll calculation and validation, Social Security administration, IRPF, employee lifecycle events, final settlements (finiquitos), statutory reporting, and year-end activities.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP Payroll (preferably SAP HCM Payroll Spain), including payroll processing, troubleshooting, wage types, payroll validation, and issue resolution.

  • Solid understanding of Spanish payroll legislation and tools such as Sistema RED, SLD, SILTRA, CRA, Contrat@, Certific@2, and related tax reporting obligations.

  • Experience managing payroll calendars, monthly payroll cycles, approvals, controls, compliance requirements, and service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, payroll teams, SAP experts, and service delivery stakeholders.

  • Fluent Spanish and professional English. Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, Employee Central Payroll, Payroll Control Center, payroll integrations, or post-go-live payroll support is highly valued.
