SciTec is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain a continuous deployment pipeline (Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, ArgoCD, Ansible Playbooks) of an integrated infrastructure, platform, and software service stack in RHEL factory and test environments. Additional tasking includes developing automated test cases to validate program releases.
This involves supporting the seamless integration of various data sources, processing pipelines, and infrastructure components to meet complex mission requirements. Duties performed in Aurora, CO and Boulder, CO.
Responsibilities:
- Requirements: Understand requirement decomposition as applicable to success criteria for feature releases, and at times support requirement verification events.
- Systems Integration: Collaborate on the integration of various systems, including internal and external tools and data sources, legacy systems, and modernized platforms. Define and help manage data flows, ensuring seamless data exchange.
- Documentation: Incorporate documentation and traceability to test plans & procedures and requirement verification records in daily activities; maintain clear test documentation, reports, metrics.
- Design, Implement, and maintain automated test procedures and test cases as well as traceability to program deliverable artifacts.
- Develop automated tests across multiple layers, including infrastructure and platform services, APIs and microservices, Data pipelines and messaging systems, user-facing applications.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipeline to support continuous integration and deployment to support release builds, checkouts, and new feature validation.
- Collaborate with IVT lead, development leads, and security engineers to ensure test coverage
- Identify gaps in test coverage and propose improvements to increase reliability and reduce risk
- Support regression, performance, and integration testing efforts
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and work with engineers to resolve issues within process
- Support evolution to automated deployments and regression checkouts of system within a year.
- Promote best practices for test automation, maintainability, and reliability
- Participate in Agile development processes and planning activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 3+ years of professional experience in test automation, software engineering, or systems engineering with an emphasis on system delivery and acceptance
- Strong experience developing automated tests using Python, JavaScript
- Strong experience with deployment pipelines and integration with automated tests
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Experience with GitLab CI version control
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including testability and modular design
- Knowledgeable in systems engineering and IV&V engineering principles and work products for software programs
- Secret Security clearance is mandatory
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM or technical related discipline
- Experience supporting infrastructure or platform teams (IaaS, PaaS, SRE, OpenShift)
- Experience testing containerized systems (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Familiarity with networking, storage, or system-level testing
- Experience working in DevSecOps environments
- Experience using Helm charts, ArgoCD, Ansible Playbooks

The pay range for this position is $96,000- $156,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
