The base
We have been in 1 LWP since 2018. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre and we have everything we need to work flexibly.
The team
The Deal Implementation Team (DIT) is a centralised dealing function for the Wealth Management business providing a variety of support functions to Portfolio Managers and the Investment Team, liaising with multiple stakeholders across the rest of the business. The team provides the deal implementation function for the Front Office and the transmission mechanism for the Investment Team output into client portfolios. The team is embedded within the Banking, Lending and Trading team and reports into the Global Head of Trading.
Who we’re looking for
The successful candidate will be a dynamic, confident self starter joining the Cazenove Deal Implementation Team.
The role is based in London. The role may be performed remotely in line with Schroders’ guidance from time to time.
What you’ll do
Main responsibilities will include
• Proactively managing and implementing significant order books on behalf of the Wealth Management Investment Committee, transmitting investment decisions into client portfolios
• Managing internal unit trust portfolios which replicate the strategy set by the Investment Committee
• Proactively managing and implementing significant model orders for the Direct Equity Committee
• Accurately replicating these model changes across a large number of DIT delegated portfolios
• Transitioning client portfolios into internal portfolio funds
• Managing the daily FX and cash flows into internal portfolio funds
• Weekly reconciliation of internal portfolio funds back to model
• Reflecting direct equity model changes across numerous portfolios on a weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis
• Managing internal books for placings and IPOs
• Calculating and implementing programme and block trades and liaising between the Dealing Desk and Portfolio Managers.
• Developing and maintaining spreadsheets which contain reference information used by Portfolio Managers
• Assist in testing and implementation of systems changes.
• Act as central point of communication between Portfolio Managers, Dealing Desk, Settlements and other operational areas of the business, as well as external counterparties and custodians
• Provide general administrative support to team manager as required
• Produce reports and statistics to stakeholders when requested
• A variety of daily, weekly and monthly reporting functions
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• Strong Excel skills
• Knowledge and proven experience of employing AI into operational processes
• IT literacy – ability to develop using SQL (or similar) and/or keenness to learn
• Skilled at using MS Office
• Eikon/Bloomberg experience
• Understanding of dealing and settlement across different investment instruments
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
• Knowledge/experience of the investment industry
• Back office/operations background
• Experience of working for financial services’ businesses
• IAQ, IOC or IMC
