Position Summary
The Griffin Ambassador Fellow plays a vital role in overseeing the training, scheduling, and support of the Griffin Ambassadors team. This position provides the opportunity to build leadership skills while fostering a positive campus visit experience for prospective students. The Fellow will be responsible for assisting with managing tour logistics, coordinating the recruitment and training of new tour guides, and continuously improving the overall campus visit experience based on feedback. The Fellow will also be responsible for assisting with potential Admissions-related communications and marketing initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Tour Guide Scheduling: Facilitate and distribute weekly tour guide schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for group visits and special events.
- Training & Recruitment: Assist with leading the recruitment and training of new tour guides, collaborating with fellow Griffin Ambassador Tour Guides and other Griffin Ambassador Fellows.
- Tour Evaluation: Manage a system for sharing and collecting tour evaluations (Slate surveys) to gather feedback for ongoing improvements.
- Communications/Marketing Outreach: Generate engaging communications content using first-hand student experiences to assist with recruitment efforts.
- Event & Recruitment Support: Assist the Admissions team during recruitment events, high school visits, and other opportunities; dates and times may vary.
- Campus Visits Feedback: Gather feedback from tour guides and collaborate with the Enrollment Experience Coordinator to improve the campus visit experience.
- Ambassador Program Support:
- Assist with documentation upkeep by maintaining live documents such as the Griffin Ambassador manual and other necessary training materials.
- Assist in preparing and facilitating professional development or social activities for Griffin Ambassador meetings
- Provide campus tours as needed
- Assist the Enrollment Experience Coordinator with general front desk duties, support for campus visit events, and other administrative duties
Learning Outcomes
Student employees in this position will:
- Develop leadership, communication, and coordination skills through managing and mentoring tour guides
- Enhance their organizational and problem-solving skills while managing schedules, feedback, and training
- Gain insight into campus visits logistics and improve event planning and coordinating capabilities
- Strengthen customer service and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced, student-centered environment
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 2-3 semesters of consistent experience working as a Griffin Ambassador Tour Guide
- Currently enrolled as a Westminster student
- Professionalism and a strong sense of confidentiality
- Effective communication and organizational skills
