About this role

The Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable Peer Tutors to provide academic support to Meharry Medical College students. Peer Tutors will help bridge the gap between classroom instruction and independent study by fostering a dynamic and collaborative group learning environment. All tutors will be trained by CASA staff and certified through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). This role is essential in promoting academic excellence and student success across various disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide group tutoring sessions to support student understanding of course material
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning atmosphere
  • Assist students in developing effective study strategies and time management skills
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Communicate with supervisor in a timely manner regarding scheduling, updates, and student progress
  • Adhere to the agreed-upon tutoring schedule and notify supervisor promptly of any changes
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
