Position Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on Shipping Lead who can keep people, products, and priorities moving. This role leads daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring orders are accurate, trailers are loaded on time, and the work area stays safe and organized.

You’ll supervise a team of employees and temporary workers, solve problems as they arise, and work alongside the team when needed. The right person is a dependable leader who communicates clearly, holds people accountable, and stays calm in a busy manufacturing environment.

Schedule: Wednesday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the daily activities of the shipping and receiving team
  • Coordinate staffing and workflow to meet shipping schedules and customer commitments
  • Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments and required documentation
  • Ensure products and materials are placed in the correct staging and storage locations
  • Monitor loading, unloading, packaging, and receiving activities
  • Communicate with production, logistics, and other departments to resolve delays or obstacles
  • Coach, train, motivate, and provide feedback to assigned employees
  • Reinforce attendance, performance, safety, and quality expectations
  • Identify process improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and organization
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records
  • Keep shipping, staging, and storage areas clean, safe, and orderly
  • Step in to support hands-on shipping activities when business needs require it
  • Perform other related responsibilities assigned by management

What We’re Looking For

  • At least three years of shipping, warehouse, or distribution leadership experience
  • Experience leading employees in a fast-paced operation
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or a related degree is a plus
  • Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse procedures
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and warehouse or ERP systems
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make decisions, adjust priorities, and address issues in real time
  • Willingness and ability to work the full Wednesday–Sunday schedule

Physical and Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on role in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The Shipping Lead must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for most of the shift
  • Regularly reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and handle materials
  • Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work around moving equipment, trailers, loading areas, and changing temperatures
  • Safely perform duties in indoor and outdoor working conditions
