Job Description

We are seeking a Staff Test Engineer – Linux Kernel Driver Testing to define and lead validation of kernel drivers for a next-generation AI computational storage product. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Define validation strategy for Linux kernel drivers (PCIe devices) & Establish release readiness and qualification criteria 

  • Lead testing of:  Interrupt handling, DMA flows, MMIO interactions and Multi-device configurations 

  • Drive smoke, regression, and stress validation strategy 

  • Establish performance benchmarking for driver and I/O paths 

  • Perform and guide kernel-level profiling and performance analysis 

  • Utilize and drive adoption of Linux observability tools like  ftrace, systrace, perf, procfs (/proc) and sysfs (/sys) 

  • Ensure memory correctness, leak detection, and resource stability 

  • Validate driver reliability under stress and corner-case conditions 

  • Design frameworks for Fault injection and Error handling validation

  • Debug complex issues across kernel, runtime, and firmware layers 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • 8–12 years in Linux kernel/driver validation or development 

  • Deep experience with:  PCIe subsystem, Kernel internals, DMA and memory management 

  • Strong debugging skills using:  ftrace, perf, crash, gdb, etc. 

  • Expertise in C/C++ and kernel-level programming 

Preferred 

  • Experience with kernel profiling, tracing, and performance tuning 

  • Strong familiarity with Linux observability tools (ftrace, systrace, perf, procfs/sysfs) 

  • Experience with high-performance devices (accelerators, storage, networking) 

  • Exposure to queue-based device models (NVMe-like architectures)
