Commercial Loan Credit Analyst

Position Summary:
The position of Commercial Loan Credit Analyst is established to support the credit union in the analysis of the creditworthiness of new and existing commercial credit relationships. The employee will be proficient in all areas of credit analysis including commercial real estate underwriting. They will be able to perform credit analysis and prepare clear, complete written and oral presentations with minimal assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support loan officers by analyzing borrower and guarantor’s tax return, financial statement, and cash flow on new credit relationships to determine financial condition and trends. Present findings and offer opinions concerning creditworthiness in written format.
- Perform annual business loan reviews on the existing portfolio considering overall positioning of the collateral in the current marketplace along with analyzing the creditworthiness and historical trends of the borrower/guarantor’s financial position, cash flow, and credit history. Provide loan risk rating recommendations.
- Monitor existing portfolio for ongoing compliance with financial covenants.
- Analyze indirect automobile dealership financials and present in a written format.
- Prepare periodic reports pertaining to changes in Risk Ratings and distribution of risk ratings.
- Assist Department Manager in portfolio risk management by monitoring concentrations of credit risk based on industry, type of collateral, etc.
- Make recommendations to Department Manager regarding MBL risk, and portfolio performance.
- Provide Quality member service consistent with Credit Union standards; respond to member and staff inquires on the phone and in person.

- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- 2-4 years experience in related field, including but not limited to credit reviews, spreading financial statements, tax analysis, and analyzing personal and business financial statements.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures related to commercial real estate. Emphasis on reviewing loan underwriting decisions and verifying decisions are in compliance with policy and procedures.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and human relations skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and outside representatives.
- Strong spreadsheet and word processing skills required.
Monday - Friday 8:00/5:00pm
Saturday - Sunday: OFF
Full Time - 40 hours a week
