The Salvation Army Potomac Division Headquarters is seeking an entry-level HR Coordinator to support the daily operations of the Divisional Headquarters Human Resources Department. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys working behind the scenes to keep people, processes, and documentation moving smoothly.

The HR Coordinator provides administrative and workflow support for key HR functions, including recruitment coordination, onboarding documentation, personnel records, HRIS updates, SharePoint file maintenance, position description tracking, employee communications, and special projects. This role requires professionalism, confidentiality, strong follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Create, revise, and maintain HR forms and documents in Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint; distribute HR requests and follow up with field units to ensure timely responses.

Generate and analyze Paycom reports; compile and summarize HR data for reports, surveys, spreadsheets, and special projects; research and correct records as needed.

Manage office administration and workflow, improve procedures, and serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for HR questions and concerns.

Coordinate employee training, annual reviews, meetings, appreciation activities, and other HR events, including logistics, materials, setup, and refreshments.

Help ensure HR processes are timely, accurate, organized, and aligned with established procedures.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, but may be performed periodically in disaster service areas and camp settings.

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business administration or Management, or related field, AND

Three years progressively responsible experience performing high level administrative work in an HR office preferred; OR

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid state driver’s license.
