This position is responsible for

Supervises children, implements activities, maintains classroom environment, ensures children’s safety, establishes a positive environment for children and families. Provides transportation for children to and from activities, including after-school pick-up.

Key Responsibilities

Assists, instructs, and evaluates children in the academic areas in which they are weak so they may better understand and perform the skills in those areas.
Conducts individual and group tutoring sessions with students; prepares various reports documenting the student’s progress and shares the same with parents and others as necessary.
Supervises children in the playground and plans activities the children can enjoy while outdoors, plans and coordinates sports activities as well as arts and crafts.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Works is performed in a normal classroom or office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
Work requires occasional travel to schools which may involve exposure to changes in weather and/or heavy traffic.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

High school diploma or GED AND
One year experience teaching school aged basic academics OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid State Driver's License.
First Aid and CPR certification.
45-hour DCF required school age training.
