Principal Product Manager, AI

About this role

Why this role exists

Most AI product teams are busy shipping features. We're building JustCall's AI organization to ship outcomes - creating AI experiences customers trust, adopt, and rely on every day.

We are hiring a Principal Product Manager, AI to own the product strategy and execution behind JustCall's AI native communication platform - anchored on our AI Voice Agent (AIVA), AI Conversation Intelligence and the next products we ship on the path to an intelligent, omnichannel communication OS.

This is a senior, deeply hands-on product leadership role. You'll define the product vision, shape the roadmap and partner closely with Engineering, Design, and AI leadership to ship AI experiences that customers actually trust. You'll obsess over user problems, AI quality and the unit economics of voice. You'll be in the prompts, the evals and customer calls as much as you are in the strategy decks.

What you'll actually do

  • Own product strategy and roadmap for JustCall's AI portfolio - AI Voice Agent (AIVA), AI Conversation Intelligence and the next AI native products we ship.

  • Translate customer problems into sharp product bets. Stay close to customers - listen to real calls, sit in on rollouts, run discovery sessions and turn what you hear into product decisions.

  • Partner deeply with Engineering and AI leadership on architecture tradeoffs, model selection, eval frameworks and the build-vs-buy-vs-partner calls that shape the AI stack.

  • Define and own the quality bar for AI experiences - what "good" looks like for accuracy, latency, hallucination and customer trust

  • Drive go-to-market alongside Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success - pricing, packaging, positioning and enablement for AI products.

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years of product management experience in SaaS, AI/ML, or platform products - with a track record of owning complex, customer-facing products end to end.

  • Proven experience shipping AI-powered products at scale - agentic systems, LLM applications, etc.

  • Strong awareness of the AI ecosystem, including emerging models, platforms, startups and product launches. Stays current on industry developments and can translate advances in AI into meaningful product opportunities and competitive advantage.

  • Strong technical fluency - you can hold your own with engineers on model selection, RAG architectures, eval frameworks, prompting strategies, latency tradeoffs, etc.

  • A bias toward being in the product - you read traces, write prompts, test agent flows, and demo the work yourself.

  • Deep customer empathy - you have sat with users, listened to real calls, and translated messy signals into sharp product decisions.

  • Operational rigor - you ship measurable improvements in quality, adoption, and retention. Excellent judgment on when to go deep, when to delegate, and when to push back.

  • Comfortable in fast-moving environments where the AI capabilities shift monthly and ambiguity is the default.

Edges that help

  • You've worked in adjacent spaces - CCaaS, CPaaS, CRM, sales engagement, or conversation intelligence and understand how reps, managers, and ops teams actually work.

  • You've navigated a platform transition from legacy SaaS to AI-native and know what it takes to drive that shift across product, engineering, and GTM.

  • You have founder instincts - you've operated lean, made fast calls, and owned the outcome.

  • You've shipped voice or telephony products and understand the hard problems - latency, turn taking, multilingual handling, real time orchestration.

How we work

  • Outcomes over output. We measure product impact by retention curves, revenue influence, and customer trust - not features shipped.

  • High ownership from day one - you'll shape the product org, not inherit a finished one.

  • Fast cycles, real ambiguity, and the expectation that you bring a sharp point of view and move quickly on it.

  • Competitive pay tied to the product vision you set and the impact you drive.
