Founding Engineer
About this role
Ryvn is building the deployment infrastructure that powers mission-critical software across industries where reliability matters most. As a Founding Engineer, you’ll help shape the core platform, own end-to-end systems from design to production, and partner with the founders to set the engineering direction for a YC-backed startup in NYC.
What youll do
- Build and maintain highly available systems that orchestrate software deployment across production environments.
- Shape Ryvn’s technical direction and architecture with the founding team.
- Solve inefficiencies and ship elegant, scalable solutions with autonomy to move fast.
- Own complex distributed systems, debugging performance issues across backend services and production infra.
- Balance short-term velocity with long-term scalability and impact.
What Ryvn is looking for
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, ideally at a high-growth, VC-backed startup.
- Experience building devtools or deployment infrastructure tooling; ownership of product development end-to-end (0 to 1).
- Proficiency with Go, TypeScript, and JavaScript; React experience; comfortable across full-stack web frameworks, APIs, and databases.
- Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure); experience deploying and scaling Docker and Helm.
- Postgres and S3 experience; familiarity with CI/CD tooling, especially GitHub Actions.
- Observability experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or Mimir; familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
- Strong technical judgment and an ownership mindset.
- Industry experience in healthcare, finance, or manufacturing is a plus.
